This past weekend was the 38th Annual Cooper Young Fest. There was also live music at Live at the Garden, Satellite Music Hall, Clue at the Orpheum, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, a Tigers football game which we won, and so much more.
This just goes to show how much Memphis has to offer. And if you’re not getting out in the community, you need to.

Southern Living named Earnestine & Hazel’s one of the South’s 25 LEGENDARY dive bars. This isn’t just good news for Earnestine & Hazel’s, but good news for Memphis. I couldn’t say it any better myself, Commercial Appeal journalist Brian Stickland wrote: “Memphis is increasingly being sold to the rest of the country not as a place to simply visit, but as a place to drive toward.” Read more here and see the full list. Memphis Zoo Names Sumatran Tiger Cubs
Earlier this month, the Memphis Zoo welcomed two Sumatran Tiger cubs. This weekend, they announced their names, Boneka and Kari, after the community voted. Boneka, the Indonesian word for “doll,” honoring Dolly Parton, and Kari “meaning curry” honoring Tim Curry. Read here.
