People say things about our city all the time. Sometimes they’re good and sometimes not so much. But one thing I love about Memphians is that when it’s time to stick up for our city, we do it. Memphis isn’t perfect, and we recognize that too, but the passion for the city runs deep, and it shows.

I think those of us who love this city can all agree that we want everyone to speak positively about Memphis. One simple way we can get more people to do that is through sharing this newsletter and sharing the good news FOR MEMPHIS.

Inside and outside the city, people need to know the Memphis that we know and love. So share the good news.

From the First “Most Visited House” to the Second

Recently, President Donald Trump visited our city and signaled that because of Memphis leadership from the Mayor to U.S. Attorney General Dunavant, Memphis is one of the safest cities in America. It was an honor to host him in our city and show him the good news about Memphis. In fact, while away from the first “Most Visited House” in America, he stopped by the second, Graceland. Watch here. Toronto Raptors Visit St. Jude

Last Thursday, the Toronto Raptors came to town ahead of their game to make a surprise visit to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As a former assistant coach for the Grizzlies, Raptors' coach Darko Rajaković truly gets Memphis. Since becoming the head coach, he's visited St. Jude every time they play in Memphis. This time, he brought 20 players along with him. They spent time hanging out with several of the patients. See the fun they had here.

Dixon Gallery Named in Southern Living “Best Places to See Tulips Blooming in the South”

Memphis has so many outdoor spaces. And many of them are recognized on the national stage. Just recently, Dixon Gallery & Garden was listed on Southern Living’s list of the six “Best Places to See Tulips Blooming in the South.” This year, they planted a record 650,000 tulips. Read more here.
