More than $800K for Available for Entrepreneurs in Coming Months
We are an entrepreneurial city and have been for generations. It’s important that we continue to cultivate an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship. That’s why, through a partnership between Epicenter, Arkansas State University and the Delta Regional Authority, there is $800K in grant funding for entrepreneurial students through a program called EpicenterU is good news FOR MEMPHIS. Record Number of Students Working through MPLOY Summer Program
Building a talent pipeline is crucial to economic growth and sustainability of a city. 320 members of the business community are employing 3,000 Mid-South students. How great is that! The program is not just a summer job or a place for students to make a little cash. It’s providing a chance to explore careers, develop workplace skills, and make connections with the business community. Read about it here.
Memphis Zoo Released 80 Endangered Pine Snakes
The Zoo has more good news FOR MEMPHIS this week! Last week 80 endangered Louisiana Pine snakes into the Kisatchie National Forest—another step in their decades-long conservation efforts. This is considered one of the most ambitious snake recovery programs in North America. Learn more about the collaboration and innovation of this effort here. (Shout out, Jessica Amacker, for sharing)
